Exodus 2:23-25 God hears the cry of the
Children of Israel in Egypt
23 Now it
happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned
because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God
because of the bondage. 24 So
God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with
Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 And
God looked upon the children of Israel,
and God acknowledged them. NKJV
The king of Egypt who wanted to kill Moses has
died by the time Moses has been in Midian 40 years. [Acts 7:23, Exodus 7:7]
The time has come for Israel to be delivered as God had
promised Abraham. [Genesis 15:13-16]
has been in Egypt for about
429 years and the hard bondage has become so severe that the Children of Israel have no
place to turn except to cry out to God Most High.
God heard their cry and remembered His covenant
promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
God acknowledged them.
