Genesis 7:5-16 The Ark was entered in Preparation for the Flood.

5 And Noah did according to all that the LORD commanded him. 6 Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters were on the earth.

7 So Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. 8 Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth, 9 two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.

13 On the very same day Noah and Noah's sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the Ark-- 14 they and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort. 15 And they went into the ark to Noah, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life. 16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the LORD shut him in.” NKJV

Facts revealed:

Y Noah believed God and did as he was commanded. Obedience is the most important thing a man can do to please God. To believe what God says is the only valid basis for obedience. Remember, “Abraham believed God and God counted that belief as righteousness” [Romans 4:3]

Y Noah was 500 years old when God commanded him to build the Ark. [Genesis 5:32; 6:10] Now when they enter the completed Ark, Noah is 600 years old revealing that it took 100 years to build the Ark.

Y Noah with his wife (Naamah), and Noah’s sons with their wives went into the Ark because of the coming flood.

Y The clean and unclean animals, birds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth went into the Ark two-by-two; showing that it takes a male and a female to make a complete unit.

Y Noah knew which were clean and which were unclean by the number of pairs of each kind that came into the ark to Noah.

Y Noah did not herd them into the Ark, they went into the Ark to Noah on their own, male and female as separate pairs each according to its kind. It happened just as God had said to Noah.

Y Those who entered the Ark were selected by God Himself and entered as God commanded.

Y God Himself shut the door and sealed it; as the text says, “Yahowah shut him in.”

Y The waters began after seven days just as God had said to Noah.

Y The time was the 600^th year, 2^nd month, 17^th day of Noah’s life.

Y It was not only rain that made up the flood. Be aware that the Text said “that all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened.”

Y So the waters were coming up from below, as though the earth was sinking; and from above as rain fell.

Y Just as God had said to Noah, so it rained 40 days and 40 nights.
