Leviticus 12:1-8 Woman’s Purification after Child Birth
1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'If a woman has conceived, and borne a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her customary impurity she shall be unclean.
3 And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. 4 She shall then continue in the blood of her purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled.
5 But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her customary impurity, and she shall continue in the blood of her purification sixty-six days.
6 'When the days of her purification are fulfilled, whether for a son or a daughter, she shall bring to the priest a lamb of the first year as a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove as a sin offering, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting. 7 Then he shall offer it before the LORD, and make atonement for her. And she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who has borne a male or a female.
8 And if she is not able to bring a lamb, then she may bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons--one as a burnt offering and the other as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.' " NKJV

Y She remains unclean for an additional 66 days.
Y Her time of being unclean is for a total of 80 days.
Y During the time of her uncleanness she may not touch any hallowed thing or come into the Sanctuary.
Y The standard offering for purification after the time of uncleanness is completed is:

˛ One as a Burnt Offering.

Y The Priest shall offer them before Yehowah and make Atonement for the woman.
Though Paul taught that a woman is saved in childbearing [1 Timothy 2:11-15], yet here we learn that even in Childbirth a woman is unclean and cannot come before Yehowah without the atoning blood of a substitute which points to the sacrifice of our Messiah Jesus and His blood that cleanses us from all sin. [1 John 1:7]
Based on this law it is easy to see that Jesus was
circumcised on the eighth day according to the commandment of God to the
Levites who were responsible for enforcing the laws of God given at
It is also establishes the days of Mary’s Purification to be completed was 40 days after the birth of Jesus. [Leviticus 12:1-4, Luke 2:22]
It also indicates that Mary and Joseph were unable to bring a lamb as their Burnt Offering so they brought the alternate Offering of 2 young Pigeons. [Leviticus 12:8, Luke 2:24]
